National Forum for Environment & Health confers an award to Alkhidmat Foundation in recognition of its indiscriminate services

LAHORE: National Forum for Environment and Health has conferred an award to Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan in recognition of its indiscriminate services for flood victims across the country. Heads of several welfare and business institutions participated in an event held to mark sacrifices made for the flood victims.

On this occasion, Secretary General Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Syed Waqas Jafri said that holding such ceremonies was very welcoming and continued that all segments of society should play their part for the underprivileged segments of the society.

He said that after rescue and relief activities with Rs 10 billion, Alkhidmat Foundation under its Tameer-i-Wattan program with Rs 5 billion was continuing work on rehabilitation as well as new projects which include construction and repair of 10,000 houses; building and repair work of 600 schools, seminaries and mosques; permanent sponsorship of more than 3,000 orphans aged between 4 to 12 years; and provision of potable water.

Till-date fertilizers, he said seeds and agriculture pesticides were distributed among 10,000 farmers for wheat cultivation which was a assistance for them as well as an effort of boosting food production at the national level.

Under Mehfooz Khandan Project, Syed Waqas Jafri said registration of 19,000 women was completed who were being provided with required facilities. He further said that Alkhidmat Foundation will continue its efforts until and unless complete rehabilitation of flood victims was done. Other participants also shed light on the services of Alkhidmat Foundation for the humanity.
