NCCIA Registers FIR Against Islamabad Call Centre Over Alleged Cyber-Criminal Activities

Islamabad: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), Cyber Crime Reporting Centre Islamabad, has registered an FIR against a call centre allegedly involved in cyber-criminal activities following a search operation conducted on the basis of credible information.

According to the NCCIA, its team conducted a search operation at the premises of a call centre operating under the name 'Aofu Group', located at 89, Street No. 7, Sector I-10/3, Islamabad.

The agency said foreign nationals of multiple nationalities were found working at the premises and their involvement and respective roles were being examined as part of the ongoing investigation.

During the search, electronic devices and other relevant material allegedly connected with the suspected activities were recovered and taken into possession through proper seizure memos.

The NCCIA said preliminary assessment of the recovered material indicated that the call centre was allegedly involved in online solicitation and inducement of individuals for sexual conversations and video activities, impersonation and cheating for monetary gain through electronic means.

On the basis of the available evidence, FIR No. 136/2026 has been registered under Sections 14 and 21 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), 2016, read with Sections 419, 420, 34 and 109 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

According to the latest information, 276 foreign nationals have been identified or shifted in connection with the ongoing investigation. The foreigners include 71 Indonesians, 69 Vietnamese, 47 Thai nationals, 32 Chinese nationals, 14 Myanmar nationals and one Vanuatu national.

The NCCIA has also shifted 42 Chinese nationals to its holding centres in G-13 and Rawalpindi, comprising 18 and 24 persons respectively.

The agency is investigating the complete modus operandi, identifying all persons allegedly involved and determining their respective roles, including the possible involvement of foreign nationals.

The NCCIA reiterated its resolve to take strict legal action against organized cybercrime and protect citizens from online exploitation, fraud and deception.
