Islamabad: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has enhanced power tariff by Rs 1.79 per unit all over the country.

NEPRA has sent the decision to the federal government. The decision will be applicable subject to the approval by the federal government.

At present the average basic tariff of electricity in place in country is Rs 31.59 per unit.

On the other side NEPRA has announced to curtail power tariff by paisas 93 per unit.

NEPRA has issued press note regarding curtailment in power tariff by paisa 93 per unit.

It has been said in therein the power tariff has been slashed under the head of fuel price adjustment for the month of November.

According to notification relief will be provided to all consumers all over the country including Karachi through electricity bills for the month of January. This will not be applicable to life line consumers.
