No increase in power tariff in the month of June

Islamabad: Electricity tariff will not be increased in the month of June but relief upto paisas 20 per unit is likely to be provided.

Even no increase will be made in reference tariff.

According to power division spokesperson no additional burden will be shifted to power consumers despite suspension of LNG and use of costly furnace oil.

Power division has saved electricity consumers from additional burden of Rs 38 billion.

Monthly fuel adjustment has been stopped from enhancement at Rs 1.73 per unit.

The spokesman said the return of Rs 65 billion to the consumers has been ensured in first quarterly. Relief of Rs 1.93 per unit was given to consumers due to adjustment of first quarterly.

No increase will be made in reference tariff next month and instead relief of 20 paisas per unit will be provided.
