Islamabad: Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme, Senator Rubina Khalid, met on Monday with Malik Rauf Awan, Focal Person for the Prime Minister's Youth Programme, at the BISP Headquarters.
During the meeting, various aspects of collaboration between the Benazir Hunarmand Programme and the Prime Minister's Youth Programme aimed at providing skill development training and employment opportunities for women beneficiaries and their family members were discussed. The discussion also covered potential partnerships and cooperation with international development partners, technical institutes, and various countries.
To ensure effective implementation of this initiative, it was agreed that the teams of the Benazir Hunarmand Programme and the Prime Minister's Youth Programme would engage in regular consultations to develop a comprehensive programme framework, enabling deserving families to access sustainable economic opportunities.
Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid emphasized the importance of international certifications for skill training programmes for deserving individuals. She stated that, with the support of the Sindh Government, more than 5,000 individuals are currently receiving training in various fields under the Benazir Hunarmand Programme. She added that all possible measures are being taken to improve the lives of deserving families and provide them with dignified employment opportunities.
She further shared that consultations are also underway with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and other provinces in this regard. Malik Rauf Awan, Focal Person for the Prime Minister's Youth Programme, appreciated the initiatives of BISP, particularly the Benazir Hunarmand Programme, and assured his full cooperation. Members of the Benazir Hunarmand Programme team were also present during the meeting.
