Lahore: Notification issued by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Lahore for celebrating Basant has been challenged in Lahore High Court (LHC).

A miscellaneous petition has been filed by Azhar Siddique advocate in LHC.

The petition said DC Lahore has issued permit for celebrating basant on February 6, 7 and 8.

A girl and a youth were critically injured in kite string slitting incidents during the previous few days.

The petition said in the past precious lives have been lost due to kite string slitting incidents.

The court has been requested to issue order to DC Lahore to withdraw notification issued by him besides suspending the DC notification till the final decision of central petition.
