Lahore: Notification issued by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Gujara for preventing from providing medicines and food to flood affectees at individual level has been challenged in Lahore High Court (LHC).The petition has been filed by a citizen Nasir Hussain through Barrister Irfan Ranjha in LHC.The petition said DC Gujarat issued a notification on August 29, 2025 whereby providing food and medicines to flood affectees at individual level has been stopped. Pakistan has acknowledged Universal Declaration of Human Rights accord. Notification issued by DC Gujarat is violation of article 18 and 149 of the constitution.It has been said in the petition providing help to people during natural calamity is protected by PPC Section 52. The entire country is affected by flood like Punjab. No notification like this has been issued any where in the country.The petition further said preventing some one from helping the affectees during flood situation is violation of humanity and law.It has been requested in the petit ion that court should nullify the notification issued by DC Gujarat.
