PAF Air Chief Strengthens Bilateral Defence Ties During Official Visit to Romania

Rawalpindi: Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, during his official visit to Romania, called on Lieutenant General Leonard-Gabriel Baraboi, Chief of the Romanian Air Force Staff, to discuss avenues for enhancing bilateral defence cooperation and strengthening ties between the two Air Forces.

Upon arrival at the Romanian Air Force Headquarters, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu was presented with a Guard of Honour by a smartly turned-out contingent of the Romanian Air Force.

During the meeting, the two Air Chiefs held comprehensive discussions on advancing operational cooperation, including joint air exercises, exchange programmes, and training of air and ground crew. They also exchanged views on regional security dynamics and reaffirmed the importance of continued collaboration to promote regional and global stability.

Lieutenant General Baraboi commended the professionalism of the Pakistan Air Force, particularly its performance during recent operational engagements, and appreciated PAF's progress in indigenization and modernization under the visionary leadership of Air Chief Marshal Sidhu.

Both sides agreed to establish institutional mechanisms for sustained collaboration and explored the potential for defence-industrial partnerships in advanced aerospace technologies.

The visit of the Chief of the Air Staff to Romania marks a significant milestone in the growing defence relations between Pakistan and Romania, underscoring the two nations' shared commitment to peace, development, and mutual military cooperation in an evolving global security landscape.
