Rawalpindi: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has expressed grave concern over what it termed 'delusional, provocative and jingoistic' statements from senior Indian defence officials, warning that such rhetoric risks triggering a dangerous escalation in South Asia.
In a strongly worded statement, the ISPR said the irresponsible remarks reflect a renewed attempt by India to 'fabricate arbitrary pretexts for aggression,' which could have serious consequences for regional peace and stability.
'For decades, India has played the victim card while stoking violence and perpetrating terrorism in South Asia and beyond,' the statement said, adding that the world now recognises India as 'the true face of cross-border terrorism' and the 'epicentre of regional instability.'
Referring to earlier hostilities, ISPR noted that Indian aggression earlier this year brought two nuclear-armed states to the brink of war. 'India seems to have forgotten the wreckage of its fighter jets and the wrath of Pakistan's long-range vectors,' the statement said, cautioning that any renewed confrontation would invite 'cataclysmic devastation.'
'Pakistan shall not hold back. We shall resolutely respond, without any qualms or restraint,' the statement declared, warning that any attempt to establish a 'new normal' would be met with a 'swift, decisive and destructive' response.
The ISPR asserted that the Armed Forces and people of Pakistan are fully prepared to 'take the fight to every nook and corner of the enemy's territory,' adding that this time, 'we shall shatter the myth of geographic immunity.'
Responding to Indian threats of 'erasing Pakistan,' the statement concluded, 'India must know that if such a situation arises, the erasure will be mutual.'
