ISLAMABAD:Pakistan as a responsible state and sincere mediator will continue its diplomatic efforts for resolution of regional disputes, de-escalation and bringing warring parties to negotiating table.
Establishment of peace and stability in region and at international level is possible through political dialogue, diplomacy and mutual reconciliation instead of war and confrontation, this was said by FO spokesperson Sajjad Haider Khan in weekly press briefing here Friday.
The process of dialogue and arbitration can take time, he said adding however Pakistan hopes peace and stability will prevail in the region.
He held regional peace is not only in the interest of Pakistan but also is in the interest of region and other countries.
Sajjad Haider Khan further said that on October 23, R4 foreign ministers met their counterparts from France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom in Istanbul to discuss key regional and international challenges.
Separately, Pakistan expressed condolences to the government and people of Jordan over the loss of lives, extending sympathies to the bereaved families and wishing those injured a speedy recovery. It also reaffirmed its solidarity with Jordan in the fight against terrorism.
The Foreign Office spokesperson said Pakistan strongly condemned Houthi ballistic missile attacks on Saudi Arabia's Makkah and Madinah regions on October 26.
Aggression of such nature against sovereignty and regional integrity is not acceptable.
Pakistan has reiterated unwavering solidarity and support to Saudi Arabia.
He held Pakistan brought both factions to the negotiating table which were not talking to each other since several decades.
Pakistan will continue the role of facilitator for settlement of conflict between US and Iran. Some time peace process takes time , however it is hoped peace will prevail in the region with the passage of time.
Pakistan has called for the early implementation of a two-state solution to the Palestine dispute, reiterating its support for an independent and sovereign Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
On US elections the spokesperson said US elections are the internal matter of US. Pakistan has close relations with US. Pakistan had nominated US president Trump for noble prize for his role in stopping Pakistan-India war.
Pakistan has received invitation from India for participation in the meeting Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).
The meeting is scheduled from November 20 to 22 in New Delhi. .
Pakistan believes in positive connectivity, dialogue and cooperation in regional and international forum Being responsible country, he added.
The leadership will decide for participating in the SCO meeting after institutional consultation and completion of set procedure.
