Dhakka: Pakistan and Bangladesh have made principled decision to grant visa-free entry for diplomatic and official passports besides constituting joint committee to enhance bilateral relations.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met his Bangladeshi counterpart Lieutenant General retired Jahangir Alam Chowdhury in Dhaka Wednesday.
His Bangladeshi counterpart Lieutenant General (retired) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury warmly received Mohsin Naqvi upon arrival at the Home Affairs Ministry of Bangladesh. A guard of honour was also presented to the Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
During the meeting both the sides exchanged views on bilateral ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh and matters of mutual interest.
The two ministers also agreed to enhance cooperation in the fields of internal security and police training. Besides, they discussed to increase collaboration on anti-narcotics and anti-human trafficking. Views were exchanged on joint counter-terrorism measure
A joint committee was constituted to promote bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Interior Secretary Khurram Agha will head the committee from Pakistan side.
A high level delegation of Bangladesh will soon come to Islamabad to visit safe city project and national police academy.
Speaking on the occasion, Jahangir Alam Chowdhury termed the visit of Pakistan's Interior Minister extremely important to promote bilateral cooperation between Islamabad and Dhaka. He also thanked Mohsin Naqvi for extending the offer of police training to Bangladeshi officials
