Pakistan calls for early release, repatriation of 97 Pakistani prisoners who have completed sentences

Islamabad: Pakistan has demanded India should release and repatriate such 97 Pakistani prisoners who have completed their sentence in Indian jails.

The Pakistani prisoners who have completed their sentence in Indian jails include 64 citizens and 33 fishermen.

India should ensure safety, security and wellbeing of all Pakistanis or believed to be Pakistanis awaiting their release and return to Pakistan.

Pakistan has also demanded to provide counselor access to all detainees believed to be Pakistani nationals.

Counselor access is designed for completing the process of verification of nationality of these prisoners believed to be Pakistanis soon.

According to Foreign Office spokesperson Pakistan will continue its efforts to ensure early release and repatriate of all Pakistani prisoners.
