Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar on Thursday held a telephone conversation with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and discussed regional developments, economic prospects and preparations for the forthcoming Regional Four (R-4) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.
During the conversation, the Egyptian Foreign Minister congratulated Pakistan on the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and Iran. He appreciated Pakistan’s role and contribution in promoting peace, dialogue and stability in the region and beyond.
The two foreign ministers observed that the understanding reached between the United States and Iran carries positive implications for regional peace and the global economic outlook. They expressed hope that continued diplomatic engagement would contribute to greater stability and economic confidence.
The leaders also reviewed preparations for the upcoming R-4 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting involving Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Trkiye and Egypt. The meeting is scheduled to take place in Al Alamein, Egypt, in the coming days and is expected to focus on regional cooperation and matters of mutual interest.
