Islamabad: According to the survey conducted by a non-governmental organization IPSOS, Pakistan has a notably lower proportion of climate activists (12%) compared to the global average (17%), while the share of disengaged denialists is significantly higher (28% vs. 19% globally).

Considering the global climate crisis and its impact on Pakistan, IPSOS conducted a baseline segmentation of Pakistanis to assess their level of concern and actions regarding climate change. The key highlights are:

This polarized stance on climate change, with fewer proactive contributors and a stronger segment dismissing environmental concerns indicates the need for targeted awareness and engagement strategies to bridge the gap between concern and action.

Based on globally recognized IPSOS sustainability segmentation framework used across 15+ countries, Segments are identified across two main dimensions Level of concern for the environment How much action/intended action there is by individuals to reduce their own impact on the environment

Global average based on IPSOS essentials survey sample size 10000 adults aged in Canada ,United States ,Australia, Brazil, China, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, India, Japan, Mexico, South Africa, South Korea, and the United Kingdom.
