SIALKOT:Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said Pakistan has shown a new path to the Islamic world.

" Pakistan has shown a new path to the Islamic world. Foreign military bases can not safeguard security of the country. We removed differences of Iran with Arab brothers, he said this while addressing the annual convocation of the University of Central Punjab in Sialkot on Saturday

He was received by Director Punjab college Professor Asghar Ali and Principal Dr Azeem. Students in large number were present in Annual Convocation.

Addressing the students he said several educational institutions gave him honor in political life. I congratulate the graduating students. Educated and skilled youths can play vital role in the development of country.

He held it is matter of pride that Pakistan has a prominent position at international level. Pakistan earned position at diplomatic level after its victory in Marka-e-Haq. We have shown a new path to Islamic world. Foreign military basis cannot safeguard you.

Foreign military basis have been created to serve personal interests. Security comes from your own strength as Pakistan defeated India.

He held the largest base was built for safety of Zionist state. This was misconception of our brotherly countries that bases were built for their protection. Pakistan removed differences of Iran with Arab brothers.

He said I am a political person. But I don't make any political talk in the educational institutions. When I started politics, Sialkot endowed me with honor.

I have been serving the country since 36 years. I went to jail four to five time in my political journey. Several times I felt I am tired.

He said when I gave reaction to the statement by Maulana Fazlur Rehman it seems to me still there is vim and vigor in me.

I have been imprisoned several time. I remained in jail for seven months during PTI era. Those who imprisoned me could not provide evidence what case is against me. I endured rigors of prison during political era.

What international standing Pakistan is enjoying today it was not achieved during 78 years.

Pakistan made India five times larger than itself a symbol of lesson to others during Marka-e-Haq.. Wars were fought earlier too but some ambiguity was left. Indian leaders themselves admitted defeat after Marka-e- Haq.

The defence minister also claimed that US President Donald Trump had referred to India's defeat 11 times and mentioned the downing of Indian aircraft on several occasions.

The journey of successes is continuing under Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir's .

Pakistan has been fighting terrorism since several decades.

Pakistan has been playing a vital role to achieve ceasefire between Iran and US. Pakistan efforts had helped reduce tension between Iran and Arab countries.

He remarked institutions like NAB first arrest and then think that what case has to be instituted .

He regretted that this is the tale of Pakistan since over the last 78 years.
