Pakistan is facing Indian water terrorism: Asim Iftikhar

New york: Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the UN Asim Iftikhar Ahmed has said Pakistan is facing Indian water terrorism.

He said in a statement at Security Council briefing in New York, the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) remains valid and in-force as per the August 2025 award of the Court of Arbitration

Asim Iftikhar said India unilaterally and illegally suspended Indus river agreement . Pakistan rejects the process of using water as weapon.

He held using water as weapon is threat to regional peace and security. International community should impress upon India to comply fully with IWT .
