Rawalpindi: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that on the night of 11/12 October 2025 Afghan Taliban fighters together with Indian-backed Fitna al Khawarij (FAK) launched an unprovoked attack along the Pak-Afghan border. The assault - which included heavy fire and limited physical raids - aimed to destabilize border areas and facilitate terrorism, the ISPR said.

Exercising the right of self-defence, Pakistan's Armed Forces repelled the attacks across the border, conducted precision fires and strikes, and carried out physical raids on militant camps, training facilities and support networks in Afghan territory. ISPR said all possible measures were taken to avoid civilian casualties.

As a result of the operations, multiple Taliban locations were destroyed, 21 hostile positions on the Afghan side were briefly captured, and several terrorist training camps were rendered inoperative. ISPR reported that 23 Pakistani soldiers embraced shahadat and 29 soldiers were injured during overnight skirmishes. Credible intelligence and damage assessments estimate that more than 200 Taliban and affiliated terrorists were neutralized, with many more injured.

The ISPR called on the Taliban Government to take immediate and verifiable action against groups such as FAK, Fitna al Hindustan (FAH) and ISKP/Daesh operating from Afghan soil, warning that Pakistan will continue to defend its people and persist in neutralizing terror targets if such support continues. The statement noted concern that the provocation occurred during the visit of the Taliban Foreign Minister to India, which ISPR described as a major regional sponsor of terrorism.
