Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with the newly appointed Minister of Foreign Relations and Foreign Trade of Venezuela, F©lix Plasencia, reaffirming the two countries' commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.

During the conversation, Senator Dar congratulated Minister Plasencia on his appointment and conveyed Pakistan's heartfelt condolences over the recent devastating earthquakes in Venezuela. He reaffirmed Pakistan's solidarity with the Venezuelan government and people, expressing confidence in their resilience and recovery.

Minister Plasencia thanked Pakistan for its message of sympathy and humanitarian solidarity with the earthquake victims. He also acknowledged Pakistan's constructive role in promoting dialogue and de-escalation in the regional situation involving the United States and Iran, commending its commitment to peace and diplomacy.

The two foreign ministers reviewed the longstanding friendly relations between Pakistan and Venezuela and discussed expanding cooperation in trade, investment, business, agriculture, information technology and other sectors of mutual interest. They emphasized the significant potential for enhancing economic collaboration and strengthening people-to-people contacts.

Senator Dar underscored the importance of sustained high-level engagement to further deepen bilateral cooperation. Both sides also appreciated the close coordination between Pakistan and Venezuela at multilateral forums on issues of common interest. The two ministers agreed to remain in close contact and to meet at the earliest appropriate opportunity.
