Islamabad: Foreign Office (FO) has said Pakistan will continue to pursue Aafia Siddiqui case."We are desirous of peace in the region. Pakistan is fighting war against terrorism. Security forces of Pakistan have rendered sacrifice of lives in war on terror. War against terrorism will continue for the protection of people. We will continue to pursue Aafia Siddiqui case. Pakistan High Commissioner in Bangladesh had no political agenda of his meeting with former prime minister Khalda Zia. The aim of his meeting was to inquire about welfare. , Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said this in her weekly press briefing in Islamabad Thursday.She held Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif participated in water summit from December 3 to 4 in Saudi Arabia. He talked about shortage of water in the summit. He demanded of developed countries to allocate funds for dealing with climate change. PM presented 6-point agenda under which water related matters could be addressed.On the sidelines of summit, PM met Saudi Crown Prince and president of France.She said foreign minister visited Iran and he attended ECO conference therein. Foreign minister met also his Iranian counterpartPakistan has reaffirmed its desire for cooperative relations with all its neighbours, including India.Pakistan has consistently advocated constructive engagement and result oriented dialogue to resolve all outstanding issues including Jammu and Kashmir dispute.She, however, said the political will to resolve disputes and differences through dialogue seems lacking on India's part.She said the eastern neighbour should create conducive environment for advancement of peace and dialogue, and resolution of longstanding disputes.. .Expressing deep concerns over latest developments in Syria, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said we believe that the ongoing situation will further destabilize the region and embolden terrorist groups. She said it is critical to promote peace and security in Syria for regional stability. She called for internation al efforts to deescalate the situation and for upholding unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria.She said that foreign citizens should not participate in political activities and protest in Pakistan. Interior ministry had issued details last week that Afghan nationals participated in demonstration. As per Pakistan laws foreigners cannot participate in such like demonstrations nor Pakistan citizens should participate in political activities in other countries.To a question on appointing Gen Muhammad Aamir as ambassador in UAE first and then in Qatar she said " I will not offer any comment on any appointment.Pakistan ambassador in Afghanistan Ubaid Nizamani has talked to the respective authorities therein with reference to terrorism. Pakistan and Afghanistan continue to talk on all topics with reference to war on terror.The statistics of Pakistani prisoners in other countries go on changing.Steps are taken for return of Pakistanis imprisoned in Gulf countries.She underline Pakist an condemns grabbing of their properties by Indian government from Kashmiris in Occupied Kashmir. Pakistan will continue political, diplomatic and moral support to Kashmiris.She said the Indian actions are part of an ongoing drive to confiscate Kashmiri lands and properties to harass and intimidate the Kashmiri people and punish them for their dissenting political views. She urged the Indian authorities to end the ongoing campaign of seizing the properties and abide by its international obligations as an occupying power.Reacting to imposition of ban on women in education and nursing in Afghanistan she said education is right of every man and woman. Islam gives right of property to woman too.
