Islamabad: Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar has said that Pakistan's implementing legislation and ratification process for the Singapore Convention on Mediation is progressing steadily and will soon be tabled before Parliament.

He was virtually addressing the Singapore Convention Week 2026 Monday.

The Minister highlighted that Pakistan became the fifty-eighth signatory to the Convention in May 2025.

He said that once the Convention is ratified and the implementing legislation is enacted, mediated settlements reached in Pakistan will become enforceable across all fifty-seven signatory states, providing greater certainty to foreign investors.

Azam Nazeer Tarar said Pakistan's decision to join the Convention is not merely symbolic but a practical step to reduce litigation risks, protect commercial relationships and strengthen confidence in Pakistan's investment environment.

He said Pakistan is committed to demonstrating to the international investment community that the rule of law is an economic asset, rather than merely a legal formality.

The Minister thanked the Ministry of Law, the Government of Singapore and the Singapore International Mediation Centre for their guidance and support.
