Pesco disconnects power supply to several areas in Peshawar

Mardan: The task force of Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) disconnected power supply to several areas in the City in a grand operation launched here on Saturday.

According to details, the Pesco task force headed by XEN-1 Abdul Wahid Khan included by SDO Par Hoti, Cantt, Gujar Garhi along with the Additional Assistant Commissioner

(AAC) Adil Khan and police party raided Kuragh, Malakabad and other areas. The task force removed 600 direct connections.

The task force discounted eight heavy transformers and removed five LT spain and removed wires from four poles due to the direct connection and use of electricity illegally without paying the utility bills.

Talking to the media Abdul Wahid Khan said that the task force was formed away from the traditional method against the power thieves.

He added that the task force with the support of district administration and police will continue operations against the power thieves.

He clarified that power theft is a national and legal crime in which strict legal action will be taken against the elements involved. He added that a letter was also sent to the concerned police stations to register cases against the power thieves.

He added that the operation will continued against the electricity thieves without any discrimination.
