LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) has sought reply from the respondents on the petition filed against the ordinance pertaining to appointment of retired judges in Election Tribunal (ET).Justice Shahid Karim of LHC took up for hearing petition filed against the Election Amendment Act (EAA) in connection with appointment of retired judges in ET Thursday.Advocate Azhar Siddique said EAA cannot be applied from the past. Stay order be issued against the tribunals constituted under act.The petition said amendment act was approved to target a political party. Matter of similar nature is pending hearing in other courts including LHC.It is requested to the court to declare EAA 2024 illegal besides ordering to restore old tribunal.The court while issuing notice to respondents sought reply.
