Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued notice on the petition seeking ban on entry into Faisal Mosque in inappropriate dress and making videos in the mosque.
Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir of IHC took up for hearing the petition filed by citizen Musharraf Zain Monday.
The petitioner appeared in the court along with his counsel.
The court inquired we should give direction to whom in this regard.
The counsel replied Incharge Faisal Mosque and others have been made respondents. It has been observed from viral videos on social media that some people make unethical videos in Faisal mosque. The videos made with music and dance lead to desecrate the sanctity and dignity of the mosque.
According to the petitioner the vides made with semi revealing dress in precinct of the mosque run contrary to the sanctity of the mosque.
The desecration of mosque is against the right to freedom of religion under article 20 of the constitution. Written complaints were sent to Incharge Faisal Mosque Deputy Commissioner Islamabad and Chairman CDA but no action was taken.
The court was told through the petition that written complaints have been sent to minister for religious affairs. president International Islamic University and IG Islamabad.
It is requested to court to impose ban on entry into mosque in obscene and inappropriate dress and making videos with music and dance.
Later the court issued notice to incharge Faisal Mosque, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, chairman CDA and ministry of religious affairs .
