Peshawar: Peshawar High Court (PHC) has approved protective bail in respect of PTI leaders Shibli Faraz and Zartaj Gul. The two have been convicted and sentenced in May 9 case.PHC announced the reserved judgment on the bail plea of both these leaders Wednesday.PHC has granted protective bail to Shibli Faraz and Zartaj Gul till August 11.The court has directed Shibli Faraz and Zartaj Gul to appear in respective high court till August 11 and file appeal therein.The court has ordered they be not arrested till that time.Shibli Faraz and Zartaj Gul had filed petition in PHC for obtaining interim bail with reference to the decision announced by court in Faisalabad in their absence.Islamabad police and others were made respondents in the petition.Shibli Faraz took the plea in the petition that he wanted to file appeal against the decision of awarding sentence by Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) Faisalabad to him. Therefore, he be granted protective bail enabling him to approach the respective high court.P TI leader Zartaj Gul too filed petition in PHC in connection with protective bail through Syed Sikandar Hayat Shah advocate.The counsel pleaded that ATC Faisalabad has awarded 10 years sentence to Zartaj Gul in her absence. She wants to file appeal plea in Lahore High Court (LHC) therefore, she be granted protective bail so that she could file appeal plea in high court.
