PHC halts by polls in NA-1 Chitral on petition against disqualification of former MNA Abdul Latif Chitrali

Peshawar: Peshawar High Court (PHC) has halted by polls in NA-1 Chitral on the petition against disqualification of former Member of National Assembly (MNA) Abdul Latif Chitrali.

The petition filed against disqualification of Abdul Latif Chitrali MNA from National Assembly constituency NA-1 came up for hearing before Justice Syed Arshid Ali and Justice Waqar Ahmad of PHC Wednesday.

The court stopped by polls in NA-1 Chitral.

The counsel Moazzam Ali told the court during the hearing of the case Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) awarded sentence to Abdul Akbar Chitrali. The Election Commission (EC) deseated the petitioner. Now by polls schedule has been issued in the constituency. The petitioner has presented himself for arrest. Appeal plea against his conviction is pending hearing in Islamabad High Court (IHC).

Additional DG Law Election Commission told the court the case be kept for next week. We will give arguments in this case.
