Peshawar: Peshawar High Court (PHC) has stopped newly elected members on reserved seats in KP assembly from taking oath.A two members bench of PHC comprising Justice Syed Arshad Ali and Justice Dr Khurshid Iqbal heard the petition filed by PTI Parliamentarian with reference to reserved seats.Sultan Mehmood Khan advocate counsel for petitioner said Election Commission (EC) did not work out calculation of reserved seats correctly.Justice Arshad Ali inquired did you file list for reserved seats.The counsel for petitioner told yes we have filed list.Counsel Sultan Muhammad Khan argued there are two seats of PTI-P in provincial assembly. Election Commission has given one reserved seat of women.Justice Arshad Ali remarked PTI government is here. It has not been given seats here too.Counsel for petitioner told the court PTI did not contest the election. PTI had independent candidates here. PTI (P) should be given two more women seats. One seat of minorities is also right of PTI (P). Oath be not admini stered to women on reserved seats.After hearing the arguments PHC issued notice to election commission besides restraining newly elected members from taking oath till next hearing.Hearing of the case was adjourned till July 03.
