Peshawar: Peshawar High Court (PHC) has summoned Deputy Commissioner (DC) Swabi on the charges of sharing Women University video on tik tok.
As per media reports during hearing of petition against sharing Women University Swabi video on social media platform tik tok PHC has summoned DC Swabi and vice chancellor women university Swabi on next hearing.
A two members bench of PHC comprising Justice Sahibzada Asad Ullah and Justice Khurshid Iqbal took up the case for hearing.
Muhammad Hamdan advocate counsel for the petitioner informed the court that D.C Swabi shared women university video on his personal tik tok account without permission. This has affected privacy of girls students.
He told the court not only girls students but also locals have raised objection over it too.
During the proceedings of the court, Justice Sahibzada Asad Ullah inquired from Additional Advocate General (AAG) what is happening.
AAG told upon it that reply has been filed from government side.
The court inquired what is stance of women university on this matter. Why did the vice chancellor not appear.
Counsel for the petitioner while giving arguments said as per government notification government officers are allowed only to use X (former twitter) and face book while this notification was issued in 2018.
According to him DC uploaded university videos on his personal tik tok account in 2025 which is an act entirely against the rules and regulations.
The court while fixing next hearing on July 23 ordered D.C Swabi and Vice Chancellor Women University Swabi to appear before it in person.
