Isalamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has announced "Roshan Maeeshat power package" for accelerating pace of development of industrial and agricultural sector
PM announced this package during his meeting with experts and representatives from both sectors and delegation of business community.
Under the package the additional electricity will be supplied to industries and farmers on discounted rate in the next three years from November 25, 2025 to October 2028.
The current electricity tariff of Rs 34 for industrial unit and Rs 38 of agricultural sector will be considerably slashed and
additional electricity will be supplied to industrial and agricultural sector at the rate of Rs 22.98 per unit throughout the year in next three years.
PM said the burden of electricity to be supplied under Roshan Maeeshat power package will neither be shifted to domestic consumers nor to any other department.
The efforts by Minister of energy Sardar Owais Leghari and his team for working out this package are highly commendable.
The industrial and agricultural development is must for development of national economy and jobs
creation.
Prime Minister said we are taking all possible measures for enhancing competitiveness and ease of doing business in these sectors.
He stated that industrial and agricultural sectors used 410 gigawatt additional electricity in the winter season under the package announced in last year. This led to run the wheel of industries, enhance exports and create job opportunities.
He underlined that journey from economic crisis to economic stability was arduous too but it all became possible due to hard work of economic team and cooperation from all of you.
If the industrial and agricultural sectors make headway then country will get rid of the loans. The economic indicators improved due to better policies.
