ISLAMABAD: Federal information minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said Friday Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had “rejected” Finance Ministry’s proposal of a 10 percent increase and approved an increase in government employees’ salaries of 15percent with the consent of the cabinet.

“The Prime Minister has rejected the Finance Ministry’s proposal of a 10 percent increase and has approved an increase in government employees’ salaries of 15 percent with the consent of the cabinet. Also merging of adhoc allowances into the basic pay is approved,” The minister wrote in her tweet on Friday evening, just before the budget was presented before National Assembly.
