Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has constituted a committee to review progress on federal development projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He was talking to Members of National Assembly and other public representatives from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa who called on him in Islamabad today.
The Prime Minister instructed that the committee to be headed by Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal will visit Peshawar and review progress on federal development projects in the province.
The Prime Minister said the federal government is fully aware of the problems of people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and is taking serious steps to solve the problems within its jurisdiction.
He said timely completion of ongoing federal development projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and solving public problems are among top most priorities of the federal government.
The Prime Minister urged the public representatives to address people's problems on priority basis.
He mentioned his recent visit to Haripur where laptops were distributed among students from all over the province.
The Prime Minister said laptop distribution among students will continue on merit to enable them equip themselves with latest skills.
The meeting held detailed discussion on overall political situation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and the problems faced by the people.
Issues related to public welfare, development projects and governance were also discussed.
The public representatives said the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has completely failed.
They said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government does not have a clear policy on health, education, infrastructure and public welfare and has no attention on public issues.
The representatives who attended the meeting with the Prime Minister included MNAs Babar Nawaz and Samar Bilour, former parliamentarians Murtaza Javed Abbasi, Zahid Khan, Pir Sabir Shah, Captain (retd) Safdar, MPA Dr. Ibadullah, Ikhtiar Wali, Sardar Mushtaq, Shahji Gul Afridi, Shahabuddin Khan, Rehmat Salam Khattak and Bahramand Tangi.
