PM Shehbaz reaffirms govt’s firm commitment to completely eradicate polio from Pakistan

Islamabad: Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed government's firm commitment to completely eradicate polio from Pakistan.

Chairing a meeting of National Task Force on Eradication of Polio in Islamabad on Thursday, PM Shehbaz Sharif emphasized accelerating the efforts to eradicate polio.

He said that despite all difficulties and challenges, the government, with the support of international, provincial, and local teams will soon achieve the goal of a polio-free Pakistan.

The Prime Minister said Pakistan has made significant progress against Polio and commended the efforts and cooperation of the provincial governments, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and law enforcement agencies in the anti-polio drive.

He said we must ensure with full dedication and seriousness that every child in the country receives multiple doses of the vaccine and remains safe from polio.

He said protecting our polio workers is top priority. He was also appreciative of international partners for providing support in polio eradication efforts. He especially thanked Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Salman for extending full support to Pakistan in this regard.
