Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has called senior leaders of PML-N in connection with efforts for ceasefire between PML-N and PPP.
According to sources political tension between Punjab and Sindh will be discussed with party senior leadership.
PM Shehbaz Sharif will be informed about PPP walk out from National Assembly session. PML-N senior leaders will apprise PM of reservations of PPP.
On the other hand interior minister Mohsin Naqvi too will meet PM today and convey to him message from president Asif Ali Zardari.
Sources said President Asif Ali Zardari has given task to interior minister Mohsin Naqvi to reduce the growing tension between PML-N and PPP. Mohsin Naqvi will talk to PM on allaying the tension between PML-N and PML-N.
Mohsin Naqvi had met president Asif Zardari in Bilawal House Karachi a day before and both discussed the tense situation between Sindh and Punjab governments and political situation of the country.
President Asif Ali Zadari directed interior minister to play positive role in the prevailing situation.
Differences between Punjab and Sindh propped up with reference to financial aid to flood affectees. Both the provincial governments are criticizing each other continuously.
PPP government in Sindh has demanded the flood affectees be provided financial assistance through Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) while PML-N government in Punjab has refused assistance through BISP.
