Muzaffarabad: PML-N candidate Dr Muhammad Najeeb Naqi Khan has been elected president of Azad Kashmir.

He has been elected 23rd president of AJK by securing 32 votes in Azad Kashmir legislative assembly.

His rival candidate Chaudhry Latif Akbar from PPP got 13 votes.

Polling for presidential election took place in AJK Legislative assembly secretariat. Following the completion of votes counting, the announcement for success of Dr Muhammad Najeeb Naqi Khan was made.

In 46 members house, Speaker Chaudhry Tariq Farooq cast his vote while vote of PPP assembly member Chaudhry Qasim Majid could not be counted due to his non presence.
