Islamabad: PML-N has requested PPP to extend support and cooperation in important legislation in National Assembly (NA) while PPP has demanded for withdrawing the full project of carving out canals.
As per sources government has contacted PPP to defuse the ongoing tension between the two parties.
Speaker NA Sardar Ayyaz Sadiq and law minister Azam Nazir Tarar have met PPP leaders Navid Qamar and Shazia Marri. Deputy speaker Ghulam Mustafa Shah was also present on the occasion.
The meeting was held in parliament house on the request of PML-N.
Sources said PML-N has once again assured PPP to allay their concerns. However matters could not be settled between the two parties on the issue of canals.
According to PPP sources PML-N appealed to PPP for cooperation during proceedings of parliament. PML-N has requested PPP to extend cooperation in important legislation in the ongoing National Assembly (NA) session. PPP has been requested for cooperation in quorum issue.
PPP delegation has assured PML-N delegation to convey the matters to their leadership.
Sources disclosed that PPP has demanded of PML-N to support the resolution against canals besides taking back canals construction project.
Speaker Ayyaz Sadiq has assured PPP delegation for discussing the matter with PML-N senior leadership.
As per sources both sides have agreed on continuing contacts between PML-N and PPP delegations.
