Police tackle crime amid major event duties, stressing public cooperation for swift action

Lahore: As per an official handout from DIG Operations Lahore, DIG Operations Faisal Kamran stated that crime rates will decrease when criminals are held accountable under the law. Managing security for the Cricket Series, Horse and Cattle Show, and Champions Trophy while fighting crime is a major challenge. However, public cooperation and timely reporting significantly aid the police in apprehending offenders. Faisal Kamran further informed that Lahore Police's targeted operations against criminals are ongoing. So far this month, the police have arrested 202 suspects from 89 robbery gangs and recovered stolen goods worth over 20 million rupees. The police also seized 80 motorcycles and 61 mobile phones from these criminals. Additionally, 352 criminals involved in spreading fear through illegal firearms were arrested, and the police confiscated 30 rifles, 18 shotguns, 295 pistols, and various rounds of ammunition. Through intelligence-based operations, the police have arrested 532 drug dealers, recovering 3 59 kg and 400 grams of hashish, 17 kg and 346 grams of crystal meth (ice), 9 kg and 900 grams of heroin, and 3,530 liters of alcohol. Faisal Kamran emphasized that Lahore Police remains focused on eliminating crime and arresting criminals. He urged citizens to stay vigilant and report suspicious activities to the police to ensure a safer society.
