Islamabad: The electricity tariff is likely to be scaled down in next month.

Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has filed application in NEPRA for reduction in power tariff by paisas 65 per unit. This application has been filed for reduction of tariff under the head of monthly fuel adjustment for the month of October.

National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) will hear the CPPA application on November 27. Final decision in regard to reduction in power tariff will be made during the hearing.

According to Energy authorities the relief can be provided to the electricity consumers in next month bills in the event of approval of the application.
