PPL Commences Production from Dhok Sultan-03 under Appraisal/EWT Arrangements

Karachi: Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) has announced the commencement of oil production from well Dhok Sultan-03 in the Dhok Sultan Block, District Attock, Punjab, under the Appraisal/Extended Well Testing (EWT) arrangement, effective November 1, 2025.

The block is operated by PPL with a 75 percent working interest (WI), in partnership with Government Holdings Private Limited (GHPL), which holds a 25 percent WI.

According to the company statement, the joint venture is managing oil at the Dhok Sultan Oil Handling Facility, while the associated gas is being transported to the Meyal Gas Processing Facility. The produced oil is being supplied to Attock Refinery Limited (ARL) and gas to Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), as per the government’s designated buyers.

The new arrangement provides the potential to ramp up production to 1,400 barrels of oil per day, 2.5 million standard cubic feet of gas per day (MMscfd), and 15 tons of LPG per day.

This production milestone is expected to help reduce Pakistan’s energy deficit and save valuable foreign exchange through increased local hydrocarbon output.

PPL reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing domestic energy production in a cost-effective manner, ensuring long-term energy security and contributing to national economic growth.
