PRAP Condemns Denial of Journalists’ Entry to Parliament House

Islamabad: The Parliamentary Reporters Association of Pakistan (PRAP) strongly protested and condemned the restriction on journalists' entry into Parliament House during coverage of the ongoing opposition sit-in.

In a joint statement, PRAP President MB Soomro and Secretary Naveed Akbar said preventing journalists from covering key political developments was a violation of press freedom.

The association alleged that security personnel stopped, pushed, and mistreated reporters, including senior journalist Akram Abid, who was briefly detained before being released.

PRAP demanded immediate, unhindered access for journalists to Parliament House and vowed to resist any curbs on press freedom and professional rights.
