Islamabad: Secretary ministry of privatization has said privatization of Islamabad airport is priority after PIA.

Secretary privatization ministry told Senate standing committee during briefing Saudi Arabia, UAE and Turkey have shown interest in the privatization of Islamabad Air Port. Open bidding will be held instead of privatization at government level.

The management of airport will be handed over to company or country which gives highest price.

Karachi and Lahore airports too will be outsourced after Islamabad airport. Financial advisor is being appointed for outsourcing Islamabad airport.

Following the outsourcing of three airports, there is plan to appoint the existing staff at other small airports.
