Islamabad: Pakistan Sugar Mills Association has expressed its serious reservations over the stoppage of sugar sale by FBR through the portal across the country, while there is no restriction on the sale and rate of sugar being imported, which is a clear contradiction.
In a statement, a PSMA spokesman said that adopting such a policy would create a severe crisis in the market and prices would increase due to shortage of sugar, for which the sugar industry cannot be held responsible.
PSMA strongly urged that government may allow sugar mills across the country to sell sugar in the market.
