Peshawar: PTI has resorted to Peshawar High Court (PHC) in connection with oath taking of newly elected Chief Minister (CM) KP.

PTI approached Chief Justice (CJ) PHC in connection with oath taking of newly elected CM KP.

Suleman Akram Raja told the court Ali Amin Gandapur had resigned from the office of CM KP on October 8. He sent his resignation again on October 11 for verification which was received by the governor.

Suleman Akram Raja told the court when resignation is received by governor once then CM will be deemed to have resigned from his office as per clause 8 of article 130. Governor has accepted it through tweet that resignation has been received by him. Now governor was showing ignorance about resignation deliberately.

Suleman Akram Raja said we cannot wait for the return of governor. Governor is not present in the province. CJ should nominate who will administer oath.

Suleman Akram Raja said constitution has empowered CJ can nominate any one for administering oath. We request the CJ in connection with oath taking today. The province cannot run without governor.

The CJ PHC inquired do you want nomination for oath taking in the absence of governor. Has speaker or opposition made any contact with governor.

Deputy Attorney General (DAG) replied they have not filed any petition. Why they are in so haste. They should wait for return of governor KP.

Suleman Aram replied governor knew it assembly session has to take place.

The CJ PHC said to the DAG he should ask if summary for oath taking has been received by governor or otherwise.
