Lahore: PTI Member of Punjab Assembly (MPA) Imtiaz Mehmood Sheikh has challenged suspension of his membership of assembly by speaker in Lahore High Court (LHC).As per media reports, Imtiaz Mehmood Sheikh MPA resorted to LHC through Azhar Siddique advocate.He has made Punjab government, governor Punjab , speaker Punjab assembly and others respondents in his petition.Imtiaz Mehmood Sheikh has taken plea in his petition he had pointed out quorum issue at the time of approval of 4 laws during assembly session. Later Punjab Assembly (PA) speaker misused assembly rules 4 and 5 and suspended his membership of assembly for 15 sessions .The petitioner prayed the court to nullify the order of speaker Punjab Assembly regarding suspension of his membership of PA besides issuing order for restoration of his membership.It is pertinent to mention here 26 opposition members were suspended for 15 sessions for violating the ruling of speaker PA.Speaker PA Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan had said that action was taken du e to rioting, pushing and tearing documents, Sanctity of house and discipline will be maintained at every cost. The right to protest is acknowledged but its limits are subservient to constitution, law and rules.
