Islamabad: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Mr. Omar Ayub Khan, and former Speaker National Assembly, Mr. Asad Qaiser, addressed the media at Parliament House, strongly criticizing the conduct of the recent by-election in Sambrial, Sialkot. Formet Speaker Mr. Asad Qaiser hailed PTI's overwhelming victory as proof of the party's unshaken public support, noting that despite full federal and provincial backing, PML-N failed to win the seat, clearly reflecting their waning popularity. He pointed out that if PML-N had truly been in a winning position, there would have been no need for Returning Officers to flee with ballot boxes, and congratulated PTI Punjab's leadership and voters for their courageous stand. Qaiser also expressed grave concern over political victimization, including baseless charges against MNA Abdul Latif Chitrali, and questioned the legitimacy of a National Assembly where the Opposition Leader is under attack. He stated that the Speaker's office should remain neutral and above pressure. Emphasizing PTI's commitment to democratic values, he vowed to take the movement for constitutional supremacy to the people.

Leader of Opposition Mr. Omar Ayub Khan, meanwhile, denounced the shameful events in Sambrial, highlighting incidents where ballot boxes were stolen in broad daylight, presiding officers fled, and police were caught stamping ballots. He further revealed that polling agents were denied access, RO offices were sealed with containers, and that PTI MPs were mistreated outside Adiala Jail. Ayub condemned the false references being filed to pressurize him, reiterating that courts have ruled in his favor and rejecting any attempt to intimidate him. He revealed that even his opponent had congratulated him, despite later trying to fabricate allegations through a fake letter, which the District Election Officer confirmed was never received. Emphasizing his unwavering resolve, Omar Ayub made it clear that neither Form-47 regimes nor political pressure could force him to abandon his stance, asserting that all his parliamentary speeches have been for the unity, sovereignty, and democratic future of Pakistan.
