Punjab assembly speaker imposes fine on 10 members of assembly

Lahore: Speaker Punjab Assembly (PA) Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan while taking stern action on resorting to loud sloganeering, tearing documents, and violating assembly rules has imposed fine on 10 members of assembly.

As per media report, fine more than 20 lac was slapped on 10 members of assembly for breaking mikes by climbing on desks.

According to notification Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan ordered to 10 members of assembly to pay Rs 203550 each for causing damage to government property. In the event of non payment of the fine within 7 days, action will be taken under Punjab government Due Recovery Ordinance 1962.

As per notification the incident took place during assembly session on June 16, 2025. Decision was taken on the basis of video evidence. Under assembly rules 223 -R and 235 violation of discipline was declared non acceptable.

Those who fall under the ambit of fine are Chaudhry Javed Kausar, Asad Abbas, Muhammad Tanvir Aslam, Syed Raffat Mehmood, Muhammad Ismail, Shahbaz Ahmad, Imtiaz Mehmood, Khalid Zubair Nisar, Rana Aurangzeb and Muhammad Ahsan Ali.
