Lahore: Punjab Finance Minister Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman chaired a high-level meeting on the Lahore Development Plan, bringing together members of the Provincial Assembly from all Lahore constituencies, Commissioner Lahore, Deputy Commissioner, Managing Directors of WASA and Lahore Waste Management Company, Chief Officer Metropolitan Corporation Lahore, officials from the Lahore Development Authority (LDA), and zonal and municipal officers from all town administrations. The meeting aimed to assess the progress of ongoing development initiatives, address key challenges, and ensure their timely completion. During the session, the Finance Minister engaged with assembly members, receiving detailed briefings on constituency-specific issues.
He directed local government institutions to take immediate action in resolving public concerns and emphasized that under the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Lahore Development Plan is being implemented to modernize urban infrastructure and improve the quality of life for residents. This comprehensive plan encompasses upgrades to the city's drainage and sewerage systems, road rehabilitation, installation of streetlights, restoration of public parks, and the enhancement of water supply services. The meeting also reviewed the establishment of modern disposal units across all zones of Lahore, ensuring a long-term and sustainable solution to the city's wastewater and drainage challenges.
The Finance Minister underscored the transparency and efficiency of the Lahore Development Plan, assuring that resources are being optimally utilized with strict financial oversight. He instructed relevant government agencies to accelerate project execution and adhere to designated timelines to ensure prompt delivery of public benefits. Addressing the assembly members, the Finance Minister stressed their crucial role in overseeing and facilitating development efforts within their constituencies.
