Peshawar: Peshawar High Court (PHC) has nullified KP government health department billion of rupees tender in medicines purchase case.Justice Arshid Ali and justice Khurshid Iqbal of PHC issued the order Friday whereby tender of billion of rupees pertaining to health department KP was declared null and void.The court declared the tender an organized effort to afford benefit to a specific company, non transparent, discriminatory and violation of rules.The court while directing to nullify forthwith the tender awarded to M/S Frontier Dextrose ordered to start process of purchase of medicines afresh as per law.The court ordered to ensure transparency and equitable competition in the purchases out of public funds.The court declared that favoring blacklisted company is tantamount to playing with human lives.According to counsel for petitioner Frontier Dextrose Limited was blacklisted on the basis of spurious and sub standard medicines. Awarding tender to blacklisted company for supplying medicin es to government hospitals is tantamount to play with human lives.Reports have been collected from testing laboratories for prevention of spurious medicines.Awarding the tender to blacklisted company for supplying medicines to government hospitals constitutes violation of basic rights.
