QUETTA: Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) has gone bankrupt. As per documents 344000 out of 689000 consumers don’t pay electricity bills.

Defaulters have devoured Rs 30.44 billion out of electricity bills of Rs 61.64 billion.

Domestic consumers are defaulters on payment of Rs 4.45 billion, agriculture consumers on payment of Rs 12 billion, government departments of Rs 5 billion, commercial consumers of Rs 3 billion and industrial consumers are defaulters on payment of Rs 4 billion.

The documents revealed that QESCO is facing loss to the tune of Rs 108 billion.

QESCO has sustained loss of Rs 224 billion during the last five years.

Total assets of QESCO are valued at Rs 204 billion.
