Islamabad: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has carried out major administrative reshuffles, appointing Grade-20 senior officer Raisa Adil as the new Principal Information Officer (PIO).
According to an official notification issued by the ministry, Raisa Adil was previously serving as Executive Director General in the External Publicity Wing.
The post of Principal Information Officer is a key position that oversees and coordinates communication between the government and the media. The appointment takes immediate effect.
As part of the wider administrative changes, the Ministry of Information also issued another important notification transferring Grade-20 officer Muhammad Shehzad.
According to the notification, Muhammad Shehzad, who had been serving as Director General, Digital Communication Department, has been appointed Director General, Press Information Department (PID), Islamabad, with immediate effect.
The order, issued on July 9, 2026, states that his appointment will remain effectiv
e immediately and continue until further orders.
Meanwhile, former Principal Information Officer Mubashir Hassan has been assigned to lead the Ministry of Information’s Digital Communication Department. Under the notification, the senior Grade-20 Information Group officer has been appointed Director General, Digital Communication Department, with immediate effect.
Mubashir Hassan is a highly experienced officer who has previously served in several important positions, including Managing Director of the Associated Press of Pakista. The government’s decision is part of its broader efforts to modernize and strengthen the country’s digital media communication system.
