Re-polling begins in two Gilgit-Baltistan constituencies on Supreme Appellate Court orders

Chilas: Re-polling commenced on Sunday in two constituencies of Gilgit-Baltistan following the orders of the Supreme Appellate Court, with voting continuing under tight security arrangements.

Polling began at 8:00 a.m. in GBA-15 and GBA-17, where voters are casting their ballots at designated polling stations.

In GBA-15, voting is underway at the women's polling station in Loshi Thak, while voters in GBA-17 are exercising their right to vote at eight specified polling stations.

Election officials said polling is being conducted in a peaceful atmosphere under the supervision of the Election Commission in accordance with the prescribed rules and procedures.

Strict security measures have been put in place at sensitive and highly sensitive polling stations, with personnel of the Pakistan Army, police and other law enforcement agencies deployed to ensure law and order.

Polling will continue uninterrupted until 5:00 p.m., after which ballot counting will begin and the results will be compiled.

Authorities have urged registered voters to reach their polling stations on time and cast their votes.
