Karachi: The rejection of petition seeking implementation of laborers laws by constitutional bench of Sindh High Court (SHC) led to create extraordinary situation in the court.
Police was called on refusal from the petitioner Tariq Masood advocate for leaving the rostrum.
Tariq Masood advocate said throw me out from the court room.
The court remarked we have asked you to go on your own.
Tariq Masood Advocate came out of court room weeping.
The petition regarding implementation of laws related to 8 lac laborers came up for hearing in SHC constitutional bench Tuesday.
The court inquired from the petitioner lawyer what case he has brought.
Tariq Masood advocate took the plea eight and half lac laborers are affected. Their rights are being violated.
Justice Yusuf Ali Saeed remarked neither any worker has come nor any institution has approached the court. Why have you come.
The counsel took the stance all the laborers are poor and they cannot come to court. There is violation of articles 8, 9 and 25 of th
e constitution in regard to the rights of the laborers. Labor related policy too has been changed. The UN rules and the agreements which Pakistan have signed are being violated.
The court directed state counsel to give arguments.
The state counsel said the petitioner is not aggrieved party. The government has enacted direct legislation regarding laborers by excluding middle man and contractor.
Tariq Mansoor advocate said the state counsel is giving wrong statement. I will write letter to UN.
The court remarked it is your choice.
The petitioner grew emotional during the hearing of the case.
The court remarked we have heard you and you are not aggrieved party. Therefore, the petition is rejected.
The court repeatedly directed to leave the rostrum.
